It’s been a while since I’ve blogged but I am officially in GAINESVILLE GA!
A lot has happened since June but I’m going to focus on the last couple weeks of August as I was getting ready to leave because God did a lot in that time.
Exactly two weeks out from leaving I still had $3500 to raise to even go to Georgia. I was living in my friend’s basement, which I’m so thankful for, but also made me feel weak because I really take pride in my self-sufficiency and not ever asking for help. God’s been working on that. But I was super stressed and it felt like everything was crashing together at once. I was booking Airbnbs and hotels for my drive down at the same time that I wasn’t even sure if I would have enough money to go. I was posting on social media, making phone calls, and praying that God would provide the finances I needed. One week left, $2k left to fundraise. God showed up through my friends in big ways and I can’t be more thankful for them and their obedience to Him. The minimum I needed by the end of the week was $7500, and by Friday I had $8600 in my account. Between my friends and $2,200 in anonymous donations (if you’re reading this wow, thank you) I raised close to $5,000 in two weeks. That’s not something that I could even come close to doing on my own. God is faithful to provide for the things He’s called us to.
I drove down to Georgia over 4 days starting August 30th, and I got to stay in Colorado Springs, Kansas City, and Nashville. It was great. I’ve been at the AIM base for a week and a half so far, sleeping in my hammock, hand washing my clothes, and taking bucket showers. God is moving, and I love it so far. I’ll try to post around once a week. Much love!
